Security & access
Understand the access boundaries before you connect a workspace.
Start with the boundaries
Decide which computer holds your workspace, who is allowed to connect to it, and what each connection may do. These decisions depend on the host and its configuration.
This page is a reference outline. Release-specific security details are still awaiting engineering verification.
Access decisions
Scroll sideways to read the full table.
| Question | What the release reference must specify |
|---|---|
| Identity | How the remote computer is identified. |
| Authorization | Who can open a session, and how access is approved. |
| Permissions | Which actions a connected device may perform. |
| Credentials | How access secrets are stored, used and revoked. |
Use this checklist when reviewing a deployment. It is not a statement that every access mode is available in the release.
Where your files live
Files stored on the remote computer remain there if the device you connect from is lost or damaged. Copies saved locally are a separate matter.
Remote storage does not replace access controls, backups or your organization’s data policy.
Before using a real workspace
- Review who can connect to the host.
- Confirm the host’s account and session settings.
- Plan backups and account for local copies.
- Document how access can be revoked.
Verified encryption, authentication and logging details will accompany the release documentation.
