Your first connection
Your apps and files stay on a separate computer. Vyray Now brings that workspace to the device in front of you.
Before you start
You need two sides: a remote computer to run your applications, and a device to connect from. The remote computer can be a cloud machine or a physical workstation you own or are allowed to use.
- Keep the remote computer powered on and connected to the network.
- Have permission to access the computer and its workspace.
- Check the supported systems and package availability.
Vyray Now does not include cloud hosting. Choose and prepare your cloud machine separately.
01. Install on both sides
Use the same Vyray Now application on the remote computer and the device you connect from. Preparing a computer to receive connections may require administrator permission.
The release-specific steps will be available in the installation guide.
02. Choose the computer
Open the connection screen and enter the remote computer’s address or ID. Continue through the access prompts shown by your build. Only connect to computers you own or have permission to use.
03. Make yourself at home
Once connected, you work with the desktop of the remote machine. Open the applications and files stored there. Your local device displays the session and provides your input.
Start with a simple task, such as opening a document, before moving on to your usual workload. See session controls for a tour of the current interface.
When you step away
Closing your laptop or losing the connection does not itself shut down the remote computer. Work can continue while the host, process and session remain running. Shutting down the host, signing out or applying session limits can stop that work.
If the first connection does not work, start with connection help.
